Routed Editorial
The in-house research desk behind Routed's cost guides.
About the desk
Routed Editorial is the in-house team that researches and writes Routed's home-services cost guides and homeowner education. It is an honest organizational byline — a small team doing cost research — not a stand-in for a credentialed individual expert.
We compile typical price ranges from regional home-services market data and reported job costs, then present them as ranges rather than single numbers, because real jobs vary widely by size, materials, access, and how far a problem has spread.
What we don't do
No invented review counts, no fabricated awards, no "years of experience" we can't stand behind. When we cite a price, it's a labeled benchmark for the St. Louis area — a rough frame, not a quote for your home.
How we research this content
Every figure we publish is labeled as an industry benchmark for planning, never as a fabricated median or a guaranteed price. We update ranges as labor and material costs shift and note the review date on each guide.
When a topic genuinely calls for a licensed tradesperson's judgment, we frame that explicitly — for example by routing the homeowner to a verified local pro for the actual diagnosis — rather than dressing the content up with credentials no one on the desk holds.
